[ June 19, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]Integrated solutions provider North has been awarded £1 million of contracts improve the safety, connectivity and sustainability of Aberdeen, Scotland’s largest port in terms of berths.
It includes upgradinge and expanding CCTV and security systems and the deployment of a private 5G, public Wi-Fi and IoT networks to improve operations and customer experience.
The partnership follows the £420 million expansion of the port’s South Harbour, the largest marine infrastructure project in Trust history and officially opened in September 2023.

The investment will also allow Aberdeen to install a private 5G network, providing better connectivity at the new South Port. The 5G network will enhance communications while support applications such as drone technology, smart bollards and 5G cameras.
It will improve data gathering and support the port’s goal of becoming the UK’s first net zero port by 2040.
