ABP Newport extends steel deal
[ September 9, 2021 // Chris ]Associated British Ports (ABP) has signed a new ten-year agreement with Island Steel at Newport. Island Steel, a customer of Newport since 1994, currently occupies a purpose-built 100,000sq ft service centre, which is entirely powered by solar energy, produced on-site. The new agreement will expand the site by 1.2 acres. Island Steel will use the extra space to offer toll processing services, which will enable further reduction of its carbon footprint, as well as reduce the effect of haulage shortages.
