ACS helps New York get back on its feet
[ November 21, 2012 // Chris ]Air Charter Service has been busy these past two weeks arranging aircraft charters to help New Yorkers get their lives back to normal after Hurricane Sandy on 29 October.
The company’s local office arranged two B767 charters for an electrical supplier in Texas to move emergency transformers to restore power to the Westchester area of the city, to get around half a million homes back up to power.
Immediately after the storm, ACS arranged another charter bringing in ready to eat meals.
ACS’s own office and staff were also badly affected by the storm but, said local cargo director, Richard Thompson, “we worked around the clock to help those even more in need. Air Charter Service has a proud history of providing relief charters following natural disasters around the world, but I have to admit, I never thought I’d need to help out in my own backyard.”
