Airlines’ Heathrow footprint set for takeoff
[ December 5, 2019 // Chris ]Aberdeen Standard Investments’ AIPUT fund (Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust) has signed a pre-let agreement with airfreight handler dnata for a 115,000sq ft facility at Heathrow dnata City East site, subject to planning consent.
It will operate in conjunction with the newly-completed 250,000 sq ft warehouse also operated by dnata for Virgin Atlantic and Delta Cargo. The existing building was itself the largest off-airport pre-let in Heathrow’s history and the two buildings together will double the size of the airlines’ joint cargo operations at Heathrow.
The new facility will incorporate the latest carbon reduction initiatives including solar panels, air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging.
