Arvato buys Irish data centre logistics specialist

German-based third party logistics company Arvato is to acuire Irish-based ATC Computer Transport and Logistics, subject to regultory approval. The company provides specialized transport, logistics, and technical services for data center operators, high-tech freight forwarders, and equipment manufacturers. The Dublin-headquartered company was founded 45 years ago by Alan and Patricia Young and now led by their son Keith  and has a footprint across Europe and New Zealand, with offices in London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Frankfurt, employing over 250 people.

Arvato says the merger will create a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for the entire data center lifecycle covering Europe‘s major data hubs. Arvato tech president, Mitat Aydindag added: “Our portfolio will enable us to offer more comprehensive and innovative services to our customers worldwide. With the combination of our global expertise and the strong network of ATC, we are strengthening our position in a dynamic market segment.”
