Arvato calling…
[ May 2, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]German-owned logistics and e-commerce specialist Arvato has acquired the site of cosmetics company Avon in Corby and has taken over warehousing and transport management for its UK business.
Arvato already handles Avon’s business in Italy. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bertelsman, and specialises in the cosmetic and fashion sectors, along with healthcare, automotive and publishing.
Avon’s Corby site comprises a 31,000sq m warehouse and its 81 employees will be taken on by Arvato.
Arvato managing director UK, Tobias Uthmann, said: “The acquisition is part of our global growth strategy. We not only want to expand our global presence, but also take our very successful collaboration with Avon to the next level. This also includes investing in technology and digitalisation to make the site future-ready.”
Arvato also operates logistics centres in Hams Hall, Kings Norton and East Midlands Gateway.
General manager for the Avon UK business, Al ex Long, added: “This sale will mean a positive, long-term investment in the Corby site with a business as usual service for our representatives and customers.”
