Baltic Reefers buys NYKCool

Baltic Reefers is to acquire NYKCool AB from NYK Reefers on 1 September.
Stockholm-based NYKCool has overseas representations in Chile, New Zealand, South Africa and US and operates a fleet of 25 vessels worldwide. NYKCool will change name to Cool Carriers AB and will continue to handle the commercial operation of the entire fleet.

NYKCool/Cool Carriers CEO Boris Gersling, said: “Cool Carriers will continue its commercial operation unchanged and operate independently from Baltic Reefers. The new ownership situation, with an owner focusing on the specialized reefer segment, gives Cool Carriers a good opportunity to further prosper in this segment.” He will continue in his position as will the rest of the team
