Bertling seven in the dock on bribery charges

The UK arm of German-owned project forwarder FH Bertling and seven individuals have been charged with bribery, reports the Financial Times. The seven – Peter Ferdinand, Marc Schweiger, Stephen Emler, Joerg Blumberg, Dirk Juergensen, Giuseppe Morreale, Ralf Peterson – are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 4 August. They are alleged to have conspired together and with others to bribe an agent of the Angolan state oil company, Sonangol, to further the company’s interests there.
