BIFA urges industry to get behind apprentices plan
[ February 1, 2017 // Chris ]
The British International Freight Association (BIFA) is calling on calls on the freight community to back a specific Apprenticeship Standard for an International Freight Forwarding Operative.
An employer group has recently submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) – but before the Department for Education makes its final decision and as part of the assessment process – it is inviting you to comment on proposals to develop new Apprenticeship Standards, before a decision is made on whether to approve them for further development.
BIFA director general, Robert Keen, said: “Not only do we need to attract more young people to the industry, but it is vital that we have an apprenticeship that is relevant to their day-to-day work.
“The group have done some great work to get to the EOI point, now it is really important we show our support for the submission – which will greatly benefit our industry – by getting as many people as possible to complete this online survey.”
The deadline is Sunday 5 February and it can be accessed at: https://consult.education.gov.uk/apprenticeships/newproposalsjanuary2017/?dm_t=0,0,0,0,0&dm_i=20AX,4QL7N,E1GS55,HRRQQ,1
