BIFA welcomes more time for apprentice funds

[ October 4, 2021   //   ]

BIFA welcomed the government’s decision to extend the time for companies to access cash incentives for hiring new apprentices.
First introduced in August 2020 they were increased to £3,000 for all apprentices in February, but the scheme was due to end in September. However, the government has prolonged the scheme by four months until the end of January 2022.
BIFA executive director responsible for training and development, Carl Hobbis, said: “The extension in funding support is a further reason for our members to consider the apprenticeship pathway as a means of adding fresh talent to the industry.”
There is a dedicated area of the BIFA website – https://apprentices.bifa.org/ – that can help employers and recruits understand apprenticeship opportunities in the industry.
