Bigger ship for P&O’s Tilbury-Zeebrugge service

P&O Ferries is to upgrade its Tilbury–Zeebrugge freight service with a new vessel, the 163 trailer-capacity Wilhelmine chartered from Cobelfret. The ship can also carry 12 drivers and will replace the 145 trailer capacity Norqueen from early January.

Wilhelmine is a new build, completed earlier this year, and will help to reduce fuel costs, says P&O. P&O has progressively upgraded the service to ten sailings a week in each direction since introducing the route in 2007.
