Bright ideas from DHL
[ October 12, 2011 // Chris ]DHL’s Solutions & Innovations arm has set up a logistics ‘think tank’ to help develop creative ideas for the industry. DSI is expanding its site in Troisdorf, near Bonn to include an Innovation Campus, to engage in research with its external innovation partners and subsidiaries under one roof and to develop further innovative solutions for the future of logistics. The topping out ceremony was held on 11 October.
Up to 220 employees can be housed in the two buildings which together form the Innovation Campus and, when it comes into operation next spring some 80 employees from DSI and Agheera – DSI’s first spin-off company – will initially begin work there, as well as around 20 partner employees. Partner companies Motorola Solutions, 7id, infoware, Mojix, Zetes and the Fraunhofer-Institut für Fabrikbetrieb und -automatisierung (IFF) have already signed up. A second phase is also planned.
