British Airways boosted

The joint BA World Cargo and Iberia Cargo company International Airlines Group (IAG Cargo) reported a increases in its fourth quarter revenue to 31 December 2011 and full year revenue compared with previous periods. Commercial revenue (flown revenue plus fuel surcharges) for the final quarter was €310 million versus €300 million in the same period last year and for the full year it was up 8.6% to €1,190 million.

Cargo volume rose 4.2% for the full year over 2010 while capacity for the quarter was up 5.6%, while overall yield rose 4.2% or 6.5% excluding exchange rate factors.

Managing director Steve Gunning said: “Resurgence in previously sluggish markets has contributed to our success with growth in Europe and the US. Meanwhile, the expanded global network and fully operational fleet of three Boeing 747-8 Freighters is providing customers with increased capacity, as well as a more extensive network of freighter routes.”
