[ September 25, 2014 // Chris ]Students at Lawhill Maritime Centre in South Africa celebrated World Maritime Day on 25 September with a Lego building competition with the help of Safmarine, Lawhill’s founding sponsor. The shipping line donated Lego kits for the Triple E ships operated by Safmarine’s sister company Maersk Line. The Lawhill Maritime Centre at Simons Town High School has boosted the post-school employment prospects of its students by providing them with maritime knowledge and skills while they are at school. By the end of 2014, Lawhill will have three of its former students will become internationally qualified shipmasters.
