Cargo-partner shifts more boxes under green scheme

[ February 26, 2025   //   ]

Austrian-based forwarder Cargo-partner, now part of Japan’s Nippon Express Holdings,  says its branches in Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic transported a total of 15,706TEUs in a climate-neutral manner under the HHLA Pure initiative in 2024, a 22% increase from the previous year.

Since the start of the cooperation with the Hamburg-based handling company in 2023, the three branches have used the programme to enable environmentally-friendly transport from key European ports. The initiative, developed by HHLA and Metrans reduces CO₂ emissions by using rail transport, electrified terminal operations and offsetting any remaining emissions through certified climate protection projects.

Of the 15,706 TEU moved under the scheme, 2,611 TEU were handled in the Czech Republic, 4,870 TEU in Slovakia, and 8,225 TEUs in Hungary.
