Cool shippers pledge to cut food waste

The Cool Chain Association (CCA) called for closer collaboration with shippers to reduce food waste at its recent Perishables Summit in Barcelona, Spain. Delegates at agreed to reach out to all stakeholders to find collaborative ways of achieving a common goal of reducing waste by at least 10% by 2025. As well as saving $1bn in wasted food, it would also reduce CO2 emissions by around a million tonnes. The CCA traditionally hosts two events a year – the next is on 19-20 September in Dubai and will focus on pharmaceuticals.
