Cruising to success

Southampton-based Meachers Global Logistics has renewed and extended its 14-year supply chain management contract with global cruise operator Carnival UK. It will incorporate the consolidation of the food and beverage supplies and receipting of all products for Carnival, whose brands include Cunard, Princess, Seabourn and P&O Cruises. The work also involves inventory control, warehousing, consolidation, pick and pack, back office support and the containerisation and export of product to meet ships all over the world. It has also created a new web based delivery portal and a bar-code system.

Meachers has also recruited a further seven staff as a result of the agreement, bringing its cruise team to 18.
