Davies Turner goes direct to India
[ January 19, 2023 // Chris Lewis ]Davies Turner has launched a direct weekly LCL service from the UK to Nhava Sheva, near Mumbai in India. The forwarder’s previous service to Nhava Sheva was via transhipment in Jebel Ali, but by going direct, the forwarder can offer a 25 day port to port transit time. There are also direct links from Nhava Sheva to inland container depots at Ahmedabad, Garhiharsaru, Ludihana and Patparganj (New Delhi).
Consolidation of cargo in the UK is carried out at one of Davies Turner’s regional distribution centres in Birmingham, Bristol, Cumbernauld, Dartford, or Manchester for an ocean service departing from London Gateway. There are also direct links from Nhava Sheva to inland container depots at Ahmedabad, Garhiharsaru, Ludihana and Patparganj (New Delhi).
Davies Turner’s head of trade – Middle East, ISC & South Africa, John Adams, said: “India’s population of 1.4 billion people and a domestic market that is growing year on year, means there is large demand for imported goods from Europe.”
