DB Schenker deal keeps 8 million metres of fabric flowing
[ October 15, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]UK textile manufacturer Camira Fabrics has signed a contract with DB Schenker to enhance its airfreight operations.
Camira, headquartered in Yorkshire, produces upholstery and panel textiles for sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, and passenger transport and has over eight million meters of fabric in transit annually.
A strategic review of Camira’s logistics, driven by recent external challenges like Brexit, COVID-19, and rising global costs, revealed potential opportunities to optimise its distribution process and led to apartnership with DB Schenker, which developed a customized standard operating procedure to address these challenges.
The partnership has delivered improved visibility, faster delivery times to the US, and integrated IT.
