DHL greens marine shipments

DHL’s Global Forwarding arm says it will be neutralizing the carbon emissions of all its less-than-container load (LCL) ocean freight shipments from 1 January as part of its Mission 2050 – Zero Emissions scheme. Heavy marine oil will be replaced by sustainable biofuel on a preselected container vessel. The biofuel has also been evaluated to ensure that it is produced sustainably and does not compete with other needs for land use such as food production.
