EU moves to relax Ukraine road regs
[ April 12, 2022 // Chris ]The International Road Transport Union (IRU) has welcomed European Union Transport Ministers’ moves to waive permit requirements with Ukraine and Moldova to ease trade links during the current crisis. With Black Sea ports and maritime routes closed due to the war, road transport is crucial in helping move goods, especially food and agricultural products, it says.
IRU EU advocacy director, Raluca Marian, added however that IRU would welcome an EU-wide approach, while any temporary agreements should also be evaluated on a regular basis.
