Europe ports sign gas deal
[ April 25, 2014 // Chris ]The ports of Antwerp, Mannheim, Rotterdam, Strasbourg and Zwitserland have signed a cooperation agreement to boost LNG (liquefied natural gas) uptake in Europe. The cooperation includes studies, promotion, knowledge transfer, regulations and bunker infrastructure.The agreement forms part of the LNG Masterplan for Rhine-Main-Danube corridor to introduce LNG as a fuel for inland shipping. The European Union is providing € 40 million in subsidies for the project.
