Eurotunnel to sue govt over ferries contracts

Eurotunnel says that it will sue the UK government over the “secretive” procurement process for the extra ferry capacity. A four-day trial is due to begin on 1 March and follows a High Court hearing at the end of last year when Eurotunnel claimed that the contracts to Seaborne, Britanny Ferries and DFDS were awarded without any public notice.
Eurotunnel has meanwhile set a new freight record in January, carrying 145,960 trucks, 1% more than in January 2018.
