Expeditors make an impact at Impatex

Expeditors have won this year’s Impatex 5-a-side football Challenge Cup, for the second year running. The tournament, organised by customs software supplier Impatex was held at Heathrow’s Goals Soccer Centre. Now in its second year, and with co-sponsors Albacore for 2012, the competition drew entries from Agility, Hellmann, DHL, KRL, Expeditors, British Airways World Cargo, Immediate Transport, SDV, Ceva Freight Management, Aramex and Ceva Contract Logistics and hosts Impatex, whose home advantage also counted for little.

Having defeated Hellmann, Agility, KRL and Impatex’s own team in the early rounds, Expeditors went on to beat Ceva Freight Management 2-0 in the quarter-final, Immediate Transport 4-1 in the semi-final, and finally claimed a 2-1 victory against a strong KRL team in the final.

Impatex MD Peter Day, who played in the tournament, said: “We were very pleased to sponsor the event again this year with our associates Albacore, as so many similar competitions have fallen victim to recent industry cutbacks. We congratulate Expeditors on another very strong performance. Everyone had a great time, there was some very high-quality play, and we look forward to holding an even bigger competition in 2013.”
