Fair wind for PD Ports in Immingham
[ November 29, 2011 // Chris ]PD Ports’ specialist stevedoring team received five wind turbine shipments from Danish freight forwarders, Bluewater Shipping in ABP’s port of Immingham recently. The 80 metre high Vestas-built turbines, (four times as high as the Angel of the North), were part of a project for 22 complete turbines and is the first time a complete wind turbine farm has been handled at the port.
The turbines were discharged from the vessel onto specialist transport and again during off-loading into the storage area. When required on site, the turbines will be transported on to their final destination at the Tween Bridge Wind Farm in Doncaster.
