Fair wind for PD Ports in Immingham

PD Ports’ specialist stevedoring team received five wind turbine shipments from Danish freight forwarders, Bluewater Shipping in ABP’s port of Immingham recently. The 80 metre high Vestas-built turbines, (four times as high as the Angel of the North), were part of a project for 22 complete turbines and is the first time a complete wind turbine farm has been handled at the port.

The turbines were discharged from the vessel onto specialist transport and again during off-loading into the storage area. When required on site, the turbines will be transported on to their final destination at the Tween Bridge Wind Farm in Doncaster.
