Fast-growing Turkish Cargo ready for Covid challenge
[ September 21, 2020 // Chris ]Turkish Cargo says it has increased its global market share from 3.9% to 5.4% – over one in 20 of all air cargo shipments – with growth of 67% in the first half of 2020 thanks to its special cargo operations.
It operations have continued uninterrupted in particular to and from London, Dubai, Amsterdam and Maastricht, for pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, dangerous goods and valuable cargo. It carried 30 thousand tons of medicines and nearly 10 thousand tons of medical equipment between 1 February and 31 August 2020.
As the first air cargo carrier to hold IATA CEIV Pharma, CEIV Fresh and”CEIV Live Animal certifications its special cargo storage rooms at various temperature ranges at Istanbul and the Ataturk airports will give it all the capabilities required to transport the new Covid vaccine.
