Fedex completes Polish buy
[ June 15, 2012 // Chris ]FedEx Express has completed acquisition of the Polish courier company Opek. It gives the express carrier access to a nationwide domestic ground network with an estimated $70 million in annual revenue and 12.5 million shipments annually. Family-owned Opek operates an automated hub in Lomianki, near Warsaw, and additional hubs in Lodz and Katowice, 44 stations throughout Poland, over 1,200 employees and more than 1,300 contracted drivers.
