Fedex goes into action for children

[ November 29, 2011   //   ]

FedEx Express has teamed up with Action for Children to deliver support to the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people with a month-long charity drive by the two organisations. As part of the FedEx Cares program, more than 43 employees spent 427 hours volunteering their time, skills and fundraising efforts in Action for Children projects across the UK.

For example, employees from the customer service centre took 20 disabled children from a project on a day trip to Alton Towers – something many of the children would not normally have had the chance to do because of expense and logistical challenges.

FedEx team members also put their fundraising and DIY skills to good use with a group of 18 employees recently redecorating one of the charity’s disabilities projects, Warren Park in Kingston. They have also begun fundraising to raise £15,000 for a new sensory room or a similar service.

In Wales, eight workers from Tunbridge Wells scaled Mount Snowdon to raise money.
