FedEx ready for the rush

FedEx predicts it will move a record-breaking 317 million shipments globally between ‘Black Friday’ (27 November) and Christmas Eve – a 12.4% increase year-on-year.

Business is expected to be bolstered by three volume spikes, including Cyber Monday (November 30) and the first two Mondays in December, in which the company expects to move more than double its average daily volume. Chief executive Fred Smith said that the growth was driven by changing shopping patterns, fuelled by the rise of e-commerce.
