FIATA and IATA sign new agents’ deal
[ October 7, 2016 // Chris ]Freight forwarder association Fiata and airline body IATA officially signed the up to the reformed IATA Cargo Agency Program at the FIATA world congress in Dublin in early October.
The new IATA-FIATA Cargo Agency Program (IFACP) aims to recognise forwarders’ evolution away from being selling agents to purchasing customers and aims to involve them as equal partners in the airlines’
decision making process, including a new governance body, the IATA-FIATA Governance Board (IFGB IFACP will start a phased roll-out from early 2017, in Canada, and will be completed worldwide by the end of 2018.
