Forwarder invests in forties
[ April 25, 2016 // Chris ]
Munich-based forwarder Robert Kukla has acquired another 100 40’-pallet-wide containers able to transport 20% more euro pallets than conventional ISO containers. It says it will help to close a gap in the offerings of shipping companies and are specially suited to the European market. With an internal width of 2.43 metres instead of the standard 2.35m of an ISO container, the containers are customised for euro pallets. Robert Kukla adds that 40’-pallet-wide containers are a better choice than 45’-pallet-wide containersin the eastern Mediterranean, where the shorter unit is firmly established and is well suited to the relatively compact and heavy cargo exportered from Greece.
