Forwarder’s forklift fleet goes green
[ November 18, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]Davies Turner Air Cargo has upgraded handling equipment at its Heathrow hub.
It has replaced its fleet with seven electric forklift trucks, three reach trucks and one battery changing truck. The 11 Bobcat vehicles have been procured on a lease contract from Rushlift, the forwarder’s partner of nearly 30 years.
They include advanced safety technologies such as perimeter proximity lights, and progressive directional arrow safety lights that appear on both the front and back of the equipment, depending on the direction of travel, have replaced the traditional blue spot reverse light. Each truck is fitted with an RFID beacon to detect other trucks on a potential collision course.
