France publishes minimum wage guidance
[ April 15, 2016 // Chris ]The IRU reports that the French authorities have published new guidance on minimum wages for foreign road transport companies carrying out operations in the country. The law states that as of 1 July 2016 foreign-based drivers must receive the French minimum wage and foreign operators must designate a representative in France. IRU says that it had hoped, for the sake of legal certainty for operators, IRU that France would have waited for the outcome of the European Commission’s investigation in the similar German case. IRU has contacted the French Ministry of Transport requesting detailed practical information on the new provisions in order to inform Members.
