‘Freight MP’ loses seat; election result “a disaster” says Europa boss
[ June 9, 2017 // Chris ]Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Freight Transport, Labour MP Rob Flello, has lost his Stoke-on-Trent South seat to the Conservatives, by 663 votes. Before the election, he had warned that he faced an uphill struggle to get re-elected which could in turn threaten the future of the group.
Managing director of Europa Worldwide Group, Andrew Baxter – a firm supporter of both Brexit and the Tories meanwhile described the national election result as “a disaster”, adding: “I doubt the Conservatives will be able to push through Brexit without a majority so therefore the nature of Brexit – or in fact whether it happens at all – will depend, if I’m right, upon the result of the next election.”
