From Holland with love

American Airlines Cargo says its staff around the world rose to the occasion for Valentine’s day, delivering a million lbs of flowers, including 920,000 lb from Amsterdam 15% up on last year. The explanation is not that the Dutch are especially romantic but because it is the location of the famous Aalsmeer flower auctionwhich sends blooms around the world. American either flies them directly from Amsterdam Schiphol to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) or trucks them to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to be flown to destinations such as New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas/Fort Worth, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.
