FTA announces Multimodal programme
[ February 11, 2016 // Chris ]The Freight Transport Associationhas put together a programme of workshops, masterclasses and panel discussions for this year’s Multimodal – the UK and Ireland’s leading freight transport and logistics exhibition. FTA will be hosting a series of sessions on Wednesday 11 May – the second day of the show.
Subjects to be covered include the impact of mega shipping vessels and maritime alliances; the future of airports in the UK; the Agenda for More Rail Freight; and responding to environmental challenges in transport. Speakers from Maersk Line, Peel Ports, Heathrow Airport, Sainsbury’s, Network Rail, Heriot-Watt University and UPS are amongst the leading names taking part, along with FTA experts.
There will also be workshops on contracts of carriage; the EU’s new Union Customs Code; container weighing; and the Home Office Haulier Security Accreditation Scheme, with experts from BIFA, HMRC, World Shipping Council, ICHCA, Border Force, FTA and many others taking part.
Chris Welsh, FTA’s Director of Global and European Policy, said: “FTA’s series of well attended and topical seminars and workshops are ideal for anyone engaged in international supply chain operations, enabling them to keep up-to-date with the latest regulatory developments and top issues.”
Visitors are also welcome to the FTA stand (number 1255) at Multimodal, which takes place between 10 and 12 May. FTA will be at the show to discuss all aspects of its activities in supporting national, European and global supply chains.
