Gebrüder Weiss extends e-commerce offering to UK

Gebrüder Weiss is to expand its e-commerce last mile service to include the UK, the whole European Union, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel.
It is part of a drive by the Austrian logistics company to triple volumes handled by its “Gebrüder Weiss Express China” Shanghai-based cross-border joint venture to 25 million parcels in 2022.
Gebrüder Weiss Express was established in 2020 and developed out of the Gebrüder Weiss China e-commerce department and opened a Guangzhou office with 23 employees in January 2022.
The Joint Venture partner is Global Freight Systems China Ltd (GFS), a cross-border e-commerce company that was established in Guangzhou in 2004.
Gebrüder Weiss Express manages customs clearance locally, at airports close to destination. Its last mile delivery partner in central and eastern Europe is DPD Austria, in which Gebrüder Weiss is a partner and shareholder.
