Gefco moves relief base to Glasgow’s Eurocentral
[ December 7, 2016 // Chris ]Gefco Forwarding UK has moved its Humanitarian Relief Logistics headquarters to a new facility at EuroCentral, near Glasgow, and has appointed Ben Cunnington (pictured, below left) to head the new division. he previously worked as business development manager – Scotland for GEFCO Forwarding UK, where he was focused on the oil and gas, energy, and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors and brings over six years’ experience, having also held a range of senior roles at TNT Express, Energy Armor Racing, Tesco, and PDC Diving.
As part of his new role, Ben Cunnington will manage the transportation of humanitarian goods, primarily to Africa and the Middle East.
“Logistics plays a crucial role in this sector as it determines the speed and effectiveness of deliveries that can save lives and alleviate suffering,” he explained.
Mr Cunnington will work with Glasgow branch manager, Derek Scott (right), who has over 20 years’ of experience in the logistics and transport industry, having previously worked at DSV, Schlumberger, and Air and Cargo Services.
