Get ready for new US trade rules
[ August 30, 2013 // Chris ]Supply chain management and global trade solution specialist AEB is launching a comprehensive global trade compliance campaign including events, new white papers and awareness literature ahead of the Obama Administration’s export control reform (ECR).
It is also sponsoring the 26th Annual Global Trade Controls (GTC) Conference, organised by IBC Global Conferences at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on 5-6 November.
The US Government has now finalised the first two sets of rules, redefining how it will protect sensitive technologies and regulate exports of munitions and commercial items with military applications. The first set of rules will take effect on 15 October 2013 and the second on 6 January 2014. How these changes affect companies outside the U.S. and what they are required to do are crucial and urgent questions for British businesses. To help them understand the impact of the new rules, AEB is launching various export controls initiatives to raise awareness and educate companies about compliance obligations. There are also pre- and post-conference workshops on export licensing and trade controls and understanding defence trade controls on 4 and 7 November, respectively.
