Good year for Portland

Former naval dockyard turned commercial harbour Portland handled nearly 500,000 tonnes of cargo during in 2017, an increase of over 23% compared to 2016. General manager commercial Ian McQuade said there had been growth in dry and liquid bulk, adding that the long-term vision is for more than a million tonnes of cargo a year.
