Gothenburg opens hydrogen truck station
[ October 7, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]A truck hydrogen refuelling station opened at the Port of Gothenburg on 6 October. It is directly adjacent to Gate 6, one of the port’s busiest which, being at the entrance to the ro ro terminal, is also one of the most truck-heavy locations in Sweden with 400,000 movements a year. The station exclusively supplies green hydrogen.
When Stena Line relocates its current Germany and Denmark terminals to Arendal just west of the RoRo terminal, the number of vehicles in the area is expected to increase even further in the coming years.
The station is operated by Hydri, which plans to open around 20 hydrogen stations in Sweden during 2024 and 2025. The station at the Port of Gothenburg is the first and is partially funded by the Swedish Energy Agency.
