Greener supply chains: £1.8 million up for grabs
[ May 1, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]Roads Minister Guy Opperman has invited companies in the sector to apply for a share of an £1.8 million Freight Innovation Fund Accelerator. It forms part of a wider £7 million fund to drive innovation and sustainability in the freight sector. The first two years of the fund saw nearly £3 million allocated to several smaller firms which worked with large companies to deliver green technology. For example, Royal Mail and Skpports are delivering mail by drones in Orkney, and the Fund also supported FedEx in trialling new eCargo bikes to deliver parcels in city centres.
