Handler tests digital truck access system

Hamburg terminal operator Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has started testing a digital truck access system for the port’s container terminals. The Passify app will replace the current card-based process and was developed by HHLA Next, HHLA’s innovation unit.

In future, the 6,000 truck drivers who transport containers to and from HHLA’s terminals in Hamburg every day will have access to all the necessary information directly on their smartphones. The smartphone app is fully integrated into terminal processes and offers drivers a mobile self-service terminal in one app.
