Hauliers raise Felixstowe woes
[ August 21, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]Road hauliers raised concerns with the port of Felixstowe over its new Container Booking System (CBS.) at a meeting in mid-August.
They told the Felixstowe Port Users’ Association and representatives of Hutchison Ports that operators had faced challenges when delivering and picking up goods from the port since the start of trials of the new booking system. They also said there was a lack of clarity from the port regarding the new changes and that hauliers were being asked to pay a price for circumstances beyond their immediate control such as congestion and delays.
However, RHA welcomed a commitment to review the system with a further meeting scheduled for 4 September.
