Haven Gateway Partnership to close

The Haven Gateway Partnership is to close on 19 July after 22 years of operation. Founded in 2001 around the Haven Ports in South Suffolk and North Essex, the Partnership has lobbied Government on issues such as the A120 improvement, supported major initiatives such as bidding for and developing Freeport East, and delivered over £30m of business support programmes, providing grants and support to thousands of small firms during its lifetime. Funding for the Partnership was mostly from the public sector either through business support programmes or from subscriptions paid by local authority members.
