Horses large and small converge on Hong Kong
[ February 11, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]Cathay Cargo flew in around 70 horses Europe from Liège and London for the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show on 14-16 February. The Hong Kong carrier operated a charter flight from Liège in Belgium using one of its Boeing 747 freighters to carry most of the showjumping and specialist high-jump horses to Hong Kong on the aircraft’s main deck, accompanied by four grooms. The remaining horses, including tiny horses for the children’s Shetland Pony Grand National were flown from London Heathrow on scheduled 747 freighter services.
