Hurricane Commerce gets together with scanning specialist SGS

Hurricane Commerce has partnered with SGS to integrate its AI-powered data intelligence into SGS’s new D-TECT customs scanning solution. Hurricane’s solutions are used by postal operators, carriers, and retailers and SGS D-TECT now benefits from Hurricane’s data intelligence, making for more precise HS code classification, restricted and prohibited goods detection, denied party screening, duty and tax calculations and product compliance verification.

It automates compliance verification by cross-referencing X-ray images with shipment data to detect discrepancies, prohibited and restricted items. It also enhances security screening using real-time and data-driven anomaly detection to identify risks before shipments cross borders.

The system can be integrated with any scanner or customs system, and provides customs authorities and logistics operators with real-time access to scanning data from anywhere in the world.
