Hyundai to join 2M alliance
[ July 14, 2016 // Chris ]Korean shipping line Hyundai Merchant Marine is to become a member of the 2M container alliance, joining existing members MSC and Maersk Line. Operations will be merged from April, subject to approval processes. At one stage, troubled Hyundai was reported to be seeking a merger with fellow Korean operator Hanjin, but that line will now join THE Alliance.
Hyundai was previously a member of the G6 alliance, together with APL/NOL, Hapag-Lloyd, Mitsui OSK, NYK and OOCL.
