IAG adds Cape Town flights
[ January 23, 2014 // Chris ]IAG Cargo will offer three extra flights between London Heathrow and Cape Town from 1 May, bringing the total number of weekly frequencies to 10. The new flights will be serviced by a 777-200ER, giving greater capacity across the entire year, whereas other carriers typically only supply additional capacity seasonally, says IAG.
Tony Snell, Regional Commercial Manager Middle East and Africa at IAG Cargo, commented: “Since the departure of the home carrier [South African Airways] from the Cape Town-Heathrow route we have offered a valuable service to businesses in the region, connecting them to London and the other 350 destinations on our global network. The additional frequencies announced today will improve this service further and provide customers with additional flexibility of how they get their good to markets around the world.”
The new flights support the existing daily flights, serviced by a Boeing 747, and will depart London on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and Cape Town on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, all touching down in London before 9am.
