ICL and FreshLinc add airfreight option
[ March 19, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]International Cargo Logistics Ltd (ICL) has expanded its collaboration with supply chain management specialist FreshLinc to include final-mile delivery for UK airfreight as well as seafreight.
FreshLinc’s cold chain storage facility in Spalding will double as a control point for Customs checks and clearances. The company provides storage and logistics solutions across the UK and Europe from a network of distribution depots.
Nick Finbow Pictured, left), perishables sales director at ICL, which opened an office in Rotterdam in April, said: “Further improvements to our cold chain solutions will come later this year, as our Heathrow site undergoes renovations, with expansion and upgrades to our temperature-controlled facility.”
FreshLinc chief executive s Lee Juniper (right), explained: “We currently have established two control points in Spalding, one specialising in temperature-controlled goods. FreshLinc’s facilities give our joint customers, such as ICL, the opportunity to clear products closer to the point of discharge, saving valuable time and allowing for fresher product entering the food chain.”
